We're incredibly excited to finally share some big news with you! EMG recently approached us with an exclusive opportunity to test their brand-new E5W pickups, and we couldn't wait to give you the inside scoop.
Here is what EMG says about them:
"The EMG “E-Series” pickups were designed for modern bass players seeking a full, powerful sound from a pickup in a slim soapbar housing.
The “W” refers to the very WIDE magnet and coil stacks found in each model. These pickups are unique in having such a large string detection area, and this contributes to a distinctly broad EQ response with hefty low-end and a “thunderous” attack!"
Thunderous attack is definitely a good fit for the Thunderhorse. They are a stacked coil design in a Bartolini soapbar-sized enclosure.
This instrument is a part of the "Rock and Sky" series created by artist Madelyn McGrath.
The bass features an EMG B30 three-band EQ running at 18v. There is a battery compartment on the back for easy access.
The master volume is a push-pull master mute.
The string spacing is 18 mm as standard, but this bridge can be adjusted from 17mm to 19mm.
Our basses are proudly made in San Diego, California, USA.
Gig bag included.
The independent on/off switches for each pickup give you complete control over your tone, making it easy to dial in any combination you want, even using all three at the same time for a full, powerful sound.
Our basses feature medium jumbo stainless steel frets.
