Sometimes a bass player wants it all, and the Trip-P bass delivers. Nicknamed for its triple-P pickup configuration and trippy look, this Thunderhorse IV is designed to give you the warmest and most versatile P-bass tone you've ever heard. The body is a hand-painted whiskey-colored mahogany, adding to the rich, warm mids.
Electronics & Hardware
Instead of traditional volume knobs, this bass features three Switchcraft Jaguar-style sliders that act as on/off switches for each of the three Lollar P-style pickups. This unique setup includes a reverse P at the neck, a standard P in the middle, and another reverse P at the bridge, creating a massive, articulate sound. This is now an option on the bass builder.
The electronics are rounded out with a classic CTS volume and tone knob, complete with an Orange Drop tone cap. The volume knob also features a master mute push/pull mod, perfect for quickly cutting your signal. The bass is equipped with a Hipshot Kickass bridge and Hipshot Ultralite machine heads for rock-solid stability and tuning.
Neck & Build
The neck is crafted from roasted flame maple with a modern D profile, finished with a hardwax and oil for a smooth feel. The ebony fretboard provides a touch of snap to the warm tone. With a 1.65" nut width, 12" radius, and 21 frets, it's built for comfort and playability. The neck is reinforced with two Dragon Plate carbon rods and a two-way spoke nut truss rod.
