McGrath Thunderhorse IV – Creamsicle

Conceptually designed by Madelyn McGrath to evoke the warmth and nostalgia of summer, this vibrant bass is a true standout. Originally one of several concepts shared with our Instagram community, the "Creamsicle" finish won the popular vote by a landslide. This one-off build features a striking custom color complemented by a cream pickguard and matching pickup covers. The aesthetic is rounded out by a premium roasted flame maple neck and polished nickel hardware, perfectly capturing a bright, high-energy summer aesthetic.

Key Features

Wombo Combo Pickup Configuration This build features our Thunderhose array of EMG HZ passive pickups. For ultimate tonal control, each pickup is paired with its own dedicated Switchcraft on/off slider, allowing for a massive variety of tonal combinations. The neck pickup is in our updated position, allowing more room for slapping.

Premium 18V Electronics The Thunderhorse is equipped with an EMG BQ30 3-band preamp running at 18 volts. This increased voltage provides maximum headroom and a remarkably clean, punchy tone.

Active/Passive Versatility The master volume control features a push-pull pot for true bypass selection. This allows you to toggle between a modern active growl and a classic passive tone instantly. It also provides peace of mind during live performances—if your batteries run low, you can switch to passive mode and never miss a beat.

A lightweight, resonant solid mahogany body paired with a roasted flame maple neck. The 1.5" J-style nut width and stainless steel frets ensure maximum comfort and speed. It has a 12 inch radius board.
