This instrument was featured as a display and demo model at NAMM 2026. Because it was handled by attendees during the show, it may exhibit minor surface imperfections or light play wear. However, the guitar has undergone a full professional inspection to ensure it is in perfect working order and plays beautifully. We have adjusted the sale price to reflect its "ex-demo" status, offering a fantastic value on a world-class instrument.

The Outlaw 

This is McGrath Guitars #3, . It is influenced by the classic T design, but we have smoothed and contoured every element to create a more modern-feeling, comfortable guitar.

Electronics and Controls

The sophisticated electronics on The Outlaw were designed by San Diego session musician, Ben Zinn. It features three Lollar pickups in a Nashville setup. The bridge pickup was custom-wound to have the polarity needed to achieve a classic Stratocaster sound in 3rd position, and the signature funk and quack in 2nd and 4th position.  

The third knob is a Danny Gatton-style "Wah" tone modification. The control layout is: Volume nearest the bridge, then the Blend, followed by the Wah Tone. We intentionally added a larger gap between the blend and tone knobs to allow your pinky finger enough room for those signature Wah swells.

We are incredibly proud of this guitar. There is more to come, including some models with a more standard T Style electronics layout.
